[ the moment Lennon and Baein crashed together Hunter retreated more into the blankets.

For one, it felt weird to just watch them from a few inches away. And another, he could smell, feel both of them and that felt weird, too.

All of this was confusing. All of it.

He only pulled the blanket down enough to see what was going on after he felt the couch shirt and Lennon stumbled away. He briefly wonders if he could have helped him but the odds were - no.

Then there’s a heavy plop again and he turns his attention to Baein again.

It annoys him that Baein was just left there. In the state he’s in. Yeah, it annoys him. And he isn’t entirely sure why.

But he hesitates and carefully shifts out of the blankets so he can reach for the vampire, dragging him back in against him. ]

I’m sorry he left you like that.

[ he's so confused and worried and flushed that baein doesn't realize it until there's arms around him from seemingly nowhere, and he goes as easily as water, curling into hunter.

and immediately feeling bad. because hunter had to witness that, and baein... baein, he... he didn't stop when he shouldn't. lennon didn't look good at all, and baein wanted to run after him but he can barely muster up the energy to move between the arousal and the heat of whatever is going on and that he just fed and... ]

He needed to... Daeshim.

[ it's a bit of a croak, and baein startles at the way his own voice sounds; a little lost and abandoned and almost painful. he's not sure why, because it was just supposed to be a feeding. nothing... more. ]

I'm sorry. Sorry you had to see that. I'm sorry I let go of you.

[ he shifts around to curl his arms around hunter and presses closer, trying to ignore how his body is pulsating with a need he definitely isn't going to attempt to entertain. ]

[ Baein doesn’t have to worry about some of that. Withdrawing from things is almost Hunters first nature at this point.

When Baein comes to him, he gathers him up instinctively; wanting to keep him warm, and safe, secure… And where Baein is all emotion right now, Hunters calm… He wraps the blanket around him again loosely and buries his fingers in the others hair trying to sooth him. ]

Do you want me to call Jasper…?

[ he lets out a soft noise at the suggestion, nodding against hunter's shoulder. the thought of jasper poking at all the little needy parts of him in a different way than lennon does, or hunter. ]

What about you? Are you okay?

I’m fine.

[ He lingers a moment longer before shifting around for his device then tucks his chin against Baeins shoulder so he can tap out a quick text to Jasper once he finds his information.

It’s brief and to the point: Baein needs you. ]

[ baein tucks himself closer, still vibrating a little from both his worry and everything... else. ]

[ dropping the device somewhere he just gently rubs Baeins back and closes his eyes.

When Jasper finally comes, he’ll just go home. Well. It isn’t home but it’s close enough, he guesses. ]

[ baein will have to thank hunter somehow later, make sure he knows how grateful he is just for hunter existing. somehow, having a person with the same face as you, in baein's case, isn't bad at all, but rather comforting. ]

I'll worry, because I care.

[ …he finds that hard to believe. No one’s cared. Not for a very, very long time.

He just makes a ‘shy’ sound and continues to rub the others back.

The effect this place is having, is conflicting with the way his brain works and it’s making him tired. He just wants to sleep.

He swallows and tucks his chin so he can press his eyes to the others shoulder instead. ]

Once this is over it’ll be okay.

[ the tone of baein's voice should hold no lies or deceit, he's just being completely honest, even in the midst of his own turmoil brought on by too many things.

baein shifts to he can rub hunter's back in turn, hearing the tiredness in hunter's voice. ]

Mm... for all of us.

[ because of course he knows hunter is probably dealing with something similar to what baein has. ]

[ there’s a different sort of comfort Hunter gets here. Just enough warmth to help his guard slip…

He murmurs softly so only Bae can hear. Not that it matters.]

I’m sorry I overstepped with you…I won’t do it again.

[ baein's senses are amplified as a vampire, hunter might as well have spoken clearly with how loud it sounds to the prince. ]

I don't understand. You have not overstepped anything.

[ he just buries himself closer. ]

I shouldn’t have kissed you.

[ shouldn’t have done half the things he’s done since he got here. ]

[ baein breathes in air he doesn't need. ]

...I kissed back.

[ there's a lot of things that are confusing and he wishes he hadn't done quite a few things too. but... that part, he didn't mind. it was odd, yes, but... ]

Only cause of what’s happening. Whatever this is.

[ hesitantly he lifts his head and gently feels at the soft ends of the others hair, he smiles light and gives it a tiny tug. ]

Doesn’t have to happen again.

[ baein shifts his head into the tug with a soft noise, but doesn't try to pull away. he makes for a sigh, one that feels fake like any other time he's done anything that requires a person to breathe air. ]

I'm sorry. I didn't— I shouldn't have kissed back. If it made you uncomfortable.

Didn’t say it made me uncomfortable or that I didn’t like it.

[ he carefully threads his fingers through his hair again. ]

It’s just…all of you are connected. I don’t want to complicate any of that. I’m not…

[ there’s a string of negative words in his head that he doesn’t say. He just lets that drop and kisses Baeins forehead. ]

We’re okay.

[ he looks up at that, expression a little confused. ]

We're definitely connected, you and I.

[ have you seen us. ]

[ cute. Stop it. He smiles again and shakes his head. ]

Well, yeah. But I mean, not the way…you are with Jasper and Daeshim. Lennon is in there, too, now. I’m not part of…any of that.

[ he ducks in again to just hug hunter. it takes a moment before he replies, and it's a little hesitant and quiet, as if he's sharing something that he really hasn't addressed. ]

I know the feeling you're describing. Dae... Dae said that I do this a lot too. Stand to the side... and I do feel like that, like I don't belong in any of this.

[ another squeeze before he looks up again. ]

I don't want you to feel like that too.

[ like before, his body almost melts under the others attention. Hugs…are really nice.

They aren’t copies of each other, versions of the same person but, they’re similar enough to have that in common. As sad as it is.

Hunter sighs softly and worries his lip. ]

I don’t feel like that with you. I don’t know why that is. You’re like an anchor in all of this and honestly the only reason I haven’t ran back to my own bed to wait this out.

[ oh. ]

[ inexplicably, baein shouldn't be happy that he's the only person that secures hunter to the group, but perhaps it's more that he feels less useless like this, less of a burden, if he can do something for someone else instead of constantly taking from them, even if they offer it. ]

I'm very glad you're here. I... I can understand that feeling with you too.

[ nodding he reaches to cradle Baeins face in his hands and smiles again. ]

That’s why I said we don’t have to kiss again. I don’t want to ruin this if it makes it weird.

Does…the whole blood drinking thing make everyone frisky or is that just cause of this thing that’s making us all warm?

[ baein leans into hunter's hands, and then he nods. ]

I'm not feeling weird, but I understand what you mean.

[ he's not that hungry now, obviously, and his body has cooled a little from the... previous excitement, though he's still a little jittery overall. ]

Mm, I don't think it does? Normally? I've never... I mean, I've only ever fed properly from Lennon. Jasper too, but I don't remember it much. And Daeshim— I can't.

[ his thumbs brush lightly over the others cheeks and he nods a little. ]

Honestly, I’m not surprised that Lennon gets turned on by it. Plus, you’re cute.
